About Us
We’re not a guidance counsellor handing out one-size-fits-all advice.
We’re not your friend’s parents reminiscing about a job they started decades ago.
And we’re definitely not another cold outreach message you’re too nervous to send—or that never gets a reply.
lumentor is a modern career mentorship platform for students, recent graduates, and early-career professionals who want real, personalized advice. Whether you’re exploring what jobs align with your degree, stuck in the job hunt, looking to level up, or ready to pivot into something new, lumentor connects you directly with industry mentors who’ve been where you are and want to help you succeed - without the barriers, guesswork, or awkward outreach.
On lumentor, mentors set their availability, and mentees can browse profiles and book time directly—no awkward outreach, no gatekeeping, just straightforward access to career conversations that bring clarity and momentum.
And it’s not just about the mentees. Our mentors grow too—by giving back, developing leadership skills, and connecting with people who care about growth just as much as they do.
At its core, lumentor is about unlocking potential—through honest conversations, practical advice, and the confidence to move forward with purpose.
Because no one should fall into a career.
They should choose it.

Founders Story
Turning career confusion into confidence, one conversation at a time.
I graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a degree in Psychology—a field I truly valued—but like many students, I had no clear direction after graduation. I knew I didn’t want to become a psychologist, but I also didn’t know what other career options existed or how to translate my skills into a fulfilling role.
I had potential, but no roadmap. No mentor to turn to. Just external pressure about what I should be doing—and not enough space, support, or practical guidance to figure out what was actually right for me.
So, like many others, I experimented. I explored. I took detours.
I found my way into recruitment—thanks to someone who saw potential in me and became a mentor. It immediately clicked. Over the next eight years, I built a career in talent acquisition, hiring top professionals across Canada and the U.S. I’ve worked closely with individuals at every level—recruiting talent, presenting career opportunities, and guiding candidates through major transitions, job searches, and promotions.
Every time I asked, “How did you end up in your current role?” The answer was almost always: “I kind of just fell into it.”
The truth is, many people don’t choose their career paths—they fall into them. Not because they lack ambition, but because they never had access to early mentorship, exposure to career possibilities, or the tools to make confident decisions. That uncertainty often starts in post-secondary school, when students and recent grads are expected to make life-shaping career choices—often with little direction or support.
That’s why I built lumentor.
