Turning career confusion into confidence, one conversation at a time.

I graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a degree in Psychology, a field I genuinely loved, but I had no idea what came next. I knew I didn’t want to be a psychologist, but also I didn’t know what else was out there or how to turn my skills into a career I’d enjoy.

I had potential but no clear path, no mentor to turn to, just a lot of pressure about what I should be doing, without the space or support to figure out what was right for me.

So I did what most people do: I tried things.

A few years (and detours) later, I discovered recruitment, thanks to someone who saw something in me and became a mentor. It clicked. Over the next eight years, I’ve hired talent across Canada and the U.S. in various industries, including tech, engineering, healthcare, operations, marketing, advertising, PR, sales, HR, and finance. I worked closely with candidates at every level, guiding them through pivotal career transitions, promotions, and job searches.

Whenever I asked, “How did you end up in your role?”
The answer was almost always, “I kind of just fell into it.”

Most people don’t choose their path; they fall into it. Not because they lack ambition but because they lacked early support. Many take the first job they can get and stay because it feels safe. Others were never shown what’s possible.

That confusion starts young, when you’re a student or recent grad facing major decisions, often without the tools, context, or confidence to navigate them.
